 Self-pleasure

When it comes to sex, masturbation has to be one of the most controversial acts of sex that still to this day leads to all sorts of confusion.

It’s time to bust all the myths that have been associated with self-pleasure and just get the facts out on the table.

Contrary to whatever you learned as a child, most people are masturbating and liking it.

In fact, over 92 percent of men jerk off and over 62 percent of women also play with themselves on a regular basis.

And why not?

There are many times in our lives when we are either single or even in a relationship and we are not getting enough sex to keep us satisfied.

Self-pleasure is an amazing thing and can be very beneficial in a lot of ways.

It can keep us in our relationships for one thing. And if we are single, it can keep us from completely going crazy!

But historically, it was actually thought that men have limited amounts of semen and so by masturbating they were in fact ‘wasting’ precious sperm.

Centuries ago, it was also thought that by wasting sperm men were in fact subjected themselves to a decrease in their virility.

That has since been long proven false as men can produce 50,000 sperm in one minute, so that myth just doesn’t hold water any longer.

Christianity stepped in to say that masturbation was a selfish act that somehow meant that the person experienced some kind of ecstasy that conflicted with religious ecstasy.

More recently, Christians believe that masturbation is an act of self-love so it’s more acceptable.

In the 17th century, there were believes that started that denounced masturbation as it would cause blindness, insanity, and stunted growth.

And over the years, masturbating has been blamed for epilepsy, madness, hysteria and even cancer.

There are even still some cultures that perform female clitorectomy, which is the removal of the clitoris of women so that they would not engage in sexual acts or self-pleasure and only when the child or woman was married, was the vagina cut back open.

But contrary to all sorts of myths and earlier beliefs, masturbation will not decrease your arousal, turn you into a homosexual, cause any kind of infertility, cause disease, make you go bald, or grow hair on your palm.

On the contrary, masturbation can be an amazing thing.

Not only can it provide a way to feel a great amount of pleasure, but it can also make you a better sexual partner overall as you will be more in tune with your body.

That can only lead to a better sex life with someone else. And let’s just admit it – it feels darn good!
